The deadline for individuals to file their tax returns for 2014 is April 15, 2015. April 15 is typically the final date for individuals to file their returns in any given year.
As of 2014, corporations have until September 15 to file their final tax returns if an extension is requested, and tax-exempt organizations have until May 15 to file their returns. Individuals may apply for an extension to delay filing their taxes, but the taxes must still be paid by April 15. With an extension, the final day that individuals may file a return is October 15. After taxes are filed, individuals have three years in which they can file an amended return to fix any errors on the initial tax return.
