How do you teach your dog to roll over?

To teach your dog to roll over, command him to sit and command him to lie down. Entice him to roll over by giving the command and moving a treat around in a circular motion under his nose. Reward the dog with praise and a treat for obedience.

1. Command your dog to sit

   Command your dog to sit before you begin to train him to roll over.

2. Command your dog to lie down

   Command your dog to lie down to get the training started.

3. Position a treat in front of your dog's nose

   Once your dog is lying down, position a treat in front of his nose and move it towards his shoulder to entice him to roll over.

4. Reward your dog

   Reward your dog with praise and a treat every time he turns his head towards the treat.

5. Position the treat in front of your dog's nose, again

   Once again, position a treat in front of your dog's nose and move it towards his shoulder.

6. Reward your dog

   Do not reward your dog for every head turn. This time, reward your dog with praise and a treat when he rolls over onto his back.

7. Repeat the process

   Repeat this process until your dog can roll all the way over upon command.
