Biss Key, also known as Basic Interoperable Scrambling System, refers to a satellite sign scrambling framework started by the European Broadcasting Union and a coalition of equipment manufacturers. It offers an open platform encryption usable across various manufacturers’ equipment.
Biss Key has a simple coding that is inbuilt with an emulator coding receiver. It uses a 16-digit key from the hexadecimal number system. Biss encryption is of two types, the BISS-1 transmission, which uses a 12-digit session key. The second is BISS-E encryption, using which the decoder stores one BISS key, and the user receives a 16-digit code session key.
