Microsoft desktop icons can be shown, hidden and resized. Hiding desktop icons does not delete them from the desktop. Icons can also be personalized by selecting specific icons to appear on the desktop.

To resize desktop icons, right click the desktop, select View, and then choose the desired icon size. Resizing desktop icons can also be done by pressing and holding Ctrl while scrolling the wheel on the mouse to make icons smaller or larger. To improve computer performance, do not store files on the desktop. Instead, store them in the Documents folder, and create a desktop shortcut to the file location.
