All applications that use the Internet must be closed prior to running the speed test in order to ensure there aren't other active computers on the home network. Also, clear temporary Internet files in order for the speed test to be valid. Primus offers instructions regarding how to clear browser history and temporary Internet files for versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
