At what temperature do crayons melt?

According to Crayola, crayons begin to soften at 105 degrees Fahrenheit and melt at a temperature range of 120 to 147 degrees F. The melting range for all standard Crayola crayons is identical.
Crayola crayons are made of paraffin wax and have pigment added for color. The amount of pigment in each crayon may vary. Differences in pigment volume and crayon density may change the thickness and viscosity of each melted crayon, depending on color.
Melted crayons are still usable for art purposes. One technique is to use a brush, palette knife or cotton swab to apply melted crayon to cardboard.
