What temperature kills bed bugs?

Bed bugs can be killed if their body temperature reaches or exceeds 113 degrees Fahrenheit. They can also be frozen to death if exposed to temperatures that are as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit for long periods of time, but this method is not as reliable as using heat.
Killing bed bugs with heat involves the use of special equipment that is capable of producing more heat than the average space heater or wall thermostat. Infested living areas or containers must be exposed to sustained temperatures greater than 113 degrees to ensure that any bed bugs hiding in cracks or crevices are killed.
