What temperature should I use to cook chuck roast?

A chuck roast cooked in the oven should be cooked at a temperature of between 300 degrees and 350 degrees Fahrenheit for best results. Cooking at higher temperatures can cause the meat to become dry and tough.
Chuck roast comes from the shoulder of the cow and is not a lean cut of meat. It contains more fat and connective tissue than other cuts of meat.To achieve tender results, the roast should cook for a long period of time at a moderate temperature. It should be simmered, or braised, in a few inches of liquid or cooked in a slow cooker.
