Temporary tattoo ink is removable pigment used in the creation of fake tattoos that are useful for trying out different tattoo patterns or designs without having to commit to them. There are several different types of temporary tattoo ink including henna, tattoo markers, jagua ink, body paint and airbrush paint.
There are risks involved with using certain types of temporary tattoo ink. Henna, the most well-known type of temporary tattoo ink, can be purchased with an additive known as p-phenylenediamine that gives it a blue-black color. P-phenylenediamine is typically found in hair dye and has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use on the skin.
