What is a tenant rent increase notice?
By Forinfos - 05/08/2025 - 0 comments
A tenant rent increase notice is a letter written to tenants stating that the landlord is raising the rent. Most areas have laws that state the landlord must supply the rent increase notice before officially raising the rent, generally 30 to 60 days in advance, as of 2015.
The tenant rent increase also contains the date when the new charges go into effect and the date when the new rental payments are due. The letter is a legal document and requires signatures by the landlord and all tenants before going into effect. Tenant rent increase notices also contain an option for tenants to reject the rent increase and vacate the premises based on the timeframe specified in the original lease agreement.
