According to RxList, Terra-Cortril is used as a topical treatment of corticosteroid-responsive inflammatory conditions of the eye and ear. RxList also shows that it is no longer available in the United States.
Dosages for Terra-Cortril are two to four drops three times a day in an ear and one to two drops three times a day in an eye, according to RxList. Side effects from use include stinging and burning, along with redness. The drug is a combination of oxytetracycline and hydrocortisone, combining both an antibiotic with a corticosteroid. This is a prescribed medication and is not available over the counter.
