Is a Tesla Model X expensive?

The estimated retail price of the Tesla Model X is $70,000. However, the vehicle is not yet available as of April 2015, with first deliveries not expected until 2016. Prices for the Model X may change in the interim.

The Model X is Tesla Motors's forthcoming successor to its Model S sedan. This vehicle is an all-electric SUV using dual electric motors to provide all-wheel drive, with one motor driving the front wheels and the other powering the rear wheels. The Model X also features a vertically opening door design Tesla refers to as "Falconwing" doors. Potential buyers can reserve a Model X with a $5,000 deposit at Tesla's website.
