Is testing required to get into Renaissance High School?

All students interested in attending Renaissance High School in Detroit, Michigan must take a placement exam. As of 2015, all interested eighth grade students must submit applications for examination between October 9 and October 30 to take the exam in March of the following year.

Students who miss the application date or who are seeking to transfer to Renaissance from another school may be eligible for enrollment by submitting appeals packets. Principals select up to 10 percent of incoming ninth graders through the appeals process, so it is important that interested students are diligent in submitting the packet according to the appropriate due date.
