The Lord Chamberlain's Men is the theater company that Shakespeare joined in 1594. After King James I took the throne in 1603, the company changed its name to the King's Men. The King's Men was the most-popular theater company in London at the time.
Shakespeare moved to London in 1592 to become a playwright and actor. He retired in 1611 to Stratford, which was the city where he was born. In 1616, he wrote his will and shortly thereafter passed away. He left all of his property to his daughter, Susanna.
Shakespeare did not finish grammar school and did not graduate from college. He had seven brothers and sisters.
