The main theme in "The Little Black Boy" by William Blake is the realization and acknowledgement of racial differences. "The Little Black Boy" was published in 1789 in the book "Songs of Innocence and Experience," before the abolishment of slavery.

In the poem, Blake also questions slavery and racial discrimination through Christian values. The poem's other main theme is love, where racial differences are celebrated under the divine light of God.
