What are some things the Bible states about women preachers?

First Timothy, chapter two, verse 12 states: "I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet." First Corinthians, chapter 14, verse 34 states: "The women should keep silent in the churches." The apostle Paul is the speaker of these lines.

There is much debate as to whether Paul is speaking about a particular woman or women in general. Many believe these statements are taken out of context and used as a way to oppress women. Those lines contradict what Paul says in First Corinthians, chapter 11, verse 11: " Woman is not independent of man or man of woman in the Lord."
