The three basic levels of management are top-level, mid-level and low-level. Top-level management is also known as the administrative level, whereas the mid and low levels are referred to as executory and supervisory, respectively.

Top-level managers primarily engage in setting strategic objectives, making changes and driving the overall direction of the organization. They also delegate activities to other leaders in the organization. Mid-level managers focus on developing low-level managers and workers under their direction to guide performance in the organization. Low-level managers coach low-level workers and direct the daily activities they complete in the organization. Production efficiency and quality are common goals for low-level managers.
