What is Three Kings Day?

Three Kings' Day, also known as Epiphany, is a holiday marking the visit of the three Wise Men, also called the "Kings" or "Magi," to baby Jesus. It falls on January 6 every year and is celebrated in Spain, Latin America and Hispanic communities in the United States.

Traditionally, Three Kings' Day is the end of the Christmas season, or the "12th day of Christmas" like in the famous song. This holiday is celebrated with a Rosca de Reyes, a sweet bread shaped like a wreath topped with candied fruit and a small figurine of baby Jesus baked inside. On this day, children also receive gifts, as the Magi brought gifts to Jesus.
