What are the three smallest bones in the human body?

According to Georgia State University, the three smallest bones in the human body are the ossicles found in the ear, also know as auditory ossicles. The term "ossicles" means "tiny bones" and can be used for other small bones in the body.
The auditory ossicles, called the hammer, the anvil and the stirrup, are located in the middle ear. Their job is to transmit sounds to the cochlea. Using nearby muscles, they can also amplify sound or protect the ears from loud noises. Damaged or missing auditory ossicles result in moderate to severe hearing loss.
The hammer, anvil and stirrup are small enough to fit together on a dime.
