How do you tie a desert scarf?

In order to tie a desert scarf, otherwise known as a shemagh, fold the scarf into a triangle and drape it over the head about 3/4 of the way to one side, then pull the short end up around the chin and tie the long end to the short end by bringing it in front of the face and around behind the head. This will leave a small slit for the eyes.

Use the following steps to tie a desert scarf.

  1. Fold the scarf into a triangle

    2. Fold the square fabric in half diagonally.

  2. Drape the triangle over the head about 3/4 of the way to one side

    3. Drape the scarf over the head so that there is a short tail and long tail on either end of the head.

  3. Wrap the scarf and tie the ends together

    4. Bring the short end around the chin, then bring the long end in front of the face and around the back of the head before tying it to the short end.
