To clean a hearing aid shell, wipe it down with a tissue. Clean the microphone by holding it so that it faces the floor, and gently stroke it with the brush included with the hearing aid.

If there is any buildup, slightly dampen the tissue to remove it. Do not use a soaking wet cloth, however. Daily cleaning with the tissue and brush should prevent severe wax accumulation, but occasional deep cleaning may be necessary. Use a wax pick to remove wax from the receiver by inserting it gently into the opening in the shell, and then scooping the wax out.
