What are some tips for growing buffalo grass?

Buffalo grass grows best in warm soil with a decreasing amount of water and with removal of the weeds in the area. Buffalo grass grows from the spring to the fall and, once matured, grows without needing any water.
Before planting buffalo grass, use herbicide to kill any weeds. Alternatively, pull the weeds out of the ground by hand, though pulling weeds may not remove all of them entirely from the soil. Plant the grass around April or May when the soil is between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. After planting the seeds, water every day during the first week. Scale back the watering to every few days during the following two weeks to ensure that the seeds establish and grow properly.
