By Forinfos - 31/07/2025 - 0 comments
Plant sugar maple trees with balled and burlapped roots in an area with moist sandy or loamy soil and minimal pollution. The trees require at least partial sunlight and do best in a park setting with room to spread.
Perform open field plantings in early spring or during fall for the highest survival and growth rate. Sugar maple cuttings taken in mid-June may be used for rooting. Sugar maples grow best in the cool, moist climates of eastern North America and are the main supplier of maple sugar. Once planted, the sugar maple requires minimal maintenance and may live for over 200 years. It may grow up to 120 feet tall and 80 feet wide.
