An easy way to ensure your clothes match is to start with a base of neutrals. While black, white and gray are most commonly thought of as neutrals, brown and navy can be used in the same way.

Neutrals go with anything, so they can be combined with each other in a variety of combinations. If you want to add color, start by introducing one pop of pigment, such as a red, green or purple.

If you want to add multiple hues, make sure they are in the same color family. For example, a subdued green looks better with an equally subdued blue than it does with a neon blue. More saturated pigments, while louder, complement each other if they have the same amount of pigment.
