Using a store-bought color remover or a homemade vitamin C treatment that mixes vitamin C powder with shampoo are ways to remove hair coloring. Both of these methods work on permanent and semi-permanent hair dye and do not affect the hair's natural color.

The vitamin C treatment requires 2 grams of vitamin C powder or two crushed 1000 milligram vitamin C tablets mixed with a normal squirt of shampoo. Work the treatment into your hair, and use a shower cap to prevent it from dripping down into your eyes. Keep the treatment in for 20 minutes. One treatment should remove one to two levels of tone at a time.
