What are some tips for visiting the Riverbanks Zoo?

When visiting Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina, all guests must remember they have to pay a general admission fee unless they are members. Children 2 through 12 receive a discounted fee, while children under the age of 2 get in free.

Guests must also remember that the zoo is open from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. during the summer season, but it closes at 5:00 p.m. after September 27. There are two entrances to the zoo one at 500 Wildlife Parkway and the other at 1300 Botanical Parkway. All parts of the zoo have wheelchair access except for the upper part of Woodlands Walk nature trail.
