Forbes suggests Penn Virginia, Oasis Petroleum, Whiting Petroleum, Chesapeake Energy and Energy XXI as the top oil stocks to buy in 2015.

Nasdaq offers a list of oil stocks to buy in 2015, which have a market cap above $1 billion. Companies on the list include Whiting Petroleum, Linn Energy, Denbury Resources, Patterson-UTI Energy, SM Energy Company and EP Energy Corporation. Other companies on the same list are Freeport McMoran, Helmerich & Payne, Haliburton Company and Continental Resources.
