Tova perfume was created by Tova Borgnine, wife of the late actor Ernest Borgnine. The scent was created to appeal to women from the ages of 25 to 75, according to QVC. In 1990, Tova Borgnine partnered with QVC to promote and sell the perfume bearing her name.

In 2008, Tova Signature eau de parfum celebrated 25 years. At that time, the perfume had sold more than 10 million bottles.
