To get rid of bedbugs, carefully deep-clean your bedding, your mattress and anything made of cloth, then make an appointment with an exterminator. Bedbugs are very difficult to eradicate without professional help.
- Gather the necessary supplies
Buy a specialized bedbug containment mattress case for each infested mattress. Make sure your vacuum is in good working order. Vacuums that require bags are preferable when treating bedbug infestations.
- Clean thoroughly
Wash all bed linens and pillows in hot water. Dry in a clothes dryer for at least 30 minutes. Vacuum every crevice of your mattress. Discard the vacuum bag in an airtight container outside of the home.
- Hire an exterminator
Your home may require professional pesticide treatment to become bedbug-free. An exterminator can also offer advice on how to keep bedbugs from coming back.
