What are some treatment options for cochlear hydrops?

The use of diuretics, vasodilators and a low-salt diet can treat cochlear hydrops, according to a paper published on PubMed. Cochlear hydrops may be an early form of Meniere's disease.
Cochlear hydrops is an inner ear condition, explains WiseGeek. Like Meniere's disease, it causes tinnitus, hearing loss and aural fullness. Meniere's disease also causes vertigo, while cochlear hydrops typically does not. Cochelar hydrops may be a result of excess fluid in the cochlear chamber, which exerts abnormal pressure on the cochlea and causes the related symptoms. Hearing loss associated with cochlear hydrops typically impairs low-pitch hearing before progressing to higher-pitch hearing loss.
