What are the treatments for warts on lips?

Warts on the lips should not be treated with over-the-counter wart treatment medications, according to WebMD. These warts, as well as warts elsewhere on the face and on the genitals, should be treated by a doctor.
Wart treatment options available at a doctor's office include liquid nitrogen, prescription-strength salicylic acid and removal of the wart via laser surgery, notes WebMD. Topical acids can be applied to stimulate the immune system to fight off the virus that causes the warts; this treatment can take up to three months, however. Laser removal is the fastest way to remove a lip wart, but it is also the most invasive and typically the most expensive.
