What do tree kangaroos eat?
By Forinfos - 18/10/2025 - 0 comments
Tree kangaroos are herbivores, and their diet mainly consists of leaves and fruits. They also collect fallen fruits from the ground and scavenge for grass shoots, ferns, moss, grains, flowers, eggs, young birds, sap and even tree barks when the food supply is scarce.
Tree kangaroos are arboreal and tend to stay in trees and react slowly when on the ground. They have long claws and shorter hind legs for climbing, making them well-built for climbing trees. When not eating, tree kangaroos spend most of their day snoozing and napping in forked branches of trees. Hunting and loss of habitat push many tree kangaroo species close to extinction.
