Where do tree kangaroos live?

Tree kangaroos only live in Australia. They can be found throughout West Papua and Papua New Guinea and are not located anywhere else in the world.

Tree kangaroos spend almost all their time in trees. They eat leaves, fruit, grains, flowers, young birds and eggs and will occasionally forage for food sources closer to the ground. They are an endangered species due to a loss of habitat and hunting performed by people living in the area. When a tree kangaroo loses its trees, it becomes the prey for domesticated dogs and other animals.

Several tree kangaroo species are endangered and others are feared to be facing extinction.
