What is a tricep dip?

A tricep dip is an exercise used to strengthen and tone the tricep muscles in the backs of the upper arms. In order to perform this exercise, it is best to have a stable bench or chair that is strong enough to support the exerciser's weight.
In order to execute a tricep dip, sit on the edge of a bench or table and place each hand on either side of the hips. Slide forward so the hips are off the chair, and lower the body to the floor with both legs stretched out in front. Keep both hands stretched backwards on the chair, with palms on the edge of the seat. Straighten the arms to lift the body, then lower the torso slowly back to the ground.
