Tricuspid regurgitation is a condition whereby blood leaks back through the tricuspid valve during the contraction of the left ventricle. This disorder may not show any symptoms unless the patient is suffering from pulmonary hypertension.

The most common cause of this condition is an increase in the size of the right ventricle. Any condition that puts pressure on the right ventricle would lead to its enlargement. The symptoms of tricuspid regurgitation include weakness, swollen abdomen, fatigue, decreased urination and swollen feet and ankles. No treatment is required if there are no symptoms, as stated by MedlinePlus. In some people, a surgical operation may be required to correct the valve.
