How do you turn invisible?

Although numerous means of becoming invisible exist in the realm of fiction, the only known way to turn invisible in the real world is by using lenses to bend light around oneself. An example of this technique is the Rochester cloak.
Invisibility is not a superpower. It is an optical illusion created by cleverly applied technology. A Rochester cloak uses four lenses, arranged with careful strategy, to render an object invisible. It was developed by Professor John Howell of the University of Rochester. This technology would not be plausible for doing large tasks as hiding a military base or ship because of the scale, but it has many other promising applications.
