Do twins have the same DNA?
By Forinfos - 14/07/2025 - 0 comments
Identical twins have the same DNA code because they are the result of an embryo splitting in half. Fraternal twins do not share the same DNA because they are a result of two separate embryos.
Even though identical twins share the same DNA code, they may not always appear identical. During their development inside and outside of the womb, their environments may influence their DNA code.
Nutrition and environmental stimuli can influence which genes are expressed in a person's DNA code. For example, identical twins may end up being different heights or weights due to the nutrition they received throughout their lives.
