Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante is a type of sparkling wine that's made from moscato bianco grapes grown in Italy's DOCG areas. DOCG stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita and is the highest classification of wine.

Most asti spumante wines are produced in Italy's Piedmont area that is in the northwest region of Italy near its borders with France and Switzerland. The wine is named after the town of Asti, and spumante merely means "sparkling" in Italian.

Asti spumante wines are usually low in alcohol and are considered dessert wines. Asti spumante is very much like champagne but only goes through one fermentation via the Charmat method.
