What type of oil is used in a 2010 Audi A4 2.0 engine?

The recommended engine oil for a 2010 Audi A4 2.0 engine is SAE 5W40 viscosity oil. If SAE 5W40 is not available, SAE 5W-30 or SAE 0W-40 may be used instead.
Because the 2.0-liter engine in the A4 is such a precision power plant, certain lubricants need to be used to prevent the deposits from building up in the engine and to keep it running smoothly. Audi recommends that oil used in its engines must conform to Audi oil standard VW 502 00 for gas engines and VW 507 00 for diesel engines. The majority of synthetic oils available in the U.S. market conform to these standards.
