What type of paint should be used when painting canvas awnings?

To ensure the paint goes on evenly, it is important to wash the awnings thoroughly before the painting process begins.

If the awning has multiple layers, each layer needs to be cleansed. The fabric must be completely dry before it is painted.

Stretching the awning fabric out allows the paint to be applied evenly. After all of the canvas is painted, it is advisable to apply at least one layer of sealant. Sealant keeps the paint job looking fresh and protects the canvas from the elements.
