What type of wood does Home Depot use on its wood stoves?

Home Depot carries several brands of wood stoves, not one of which uses wooden components. The term “wood stove,” though widely used, is a misnomer, leading some consumers to mistakenly think that the appliance is a wooden stove. The correct term for this type of heater is “wood-burning stove.”

Like wood fireplaces, wood stoves are not made of wood but use wood as a fuel. Wood stove components are made of steel and cast iron. Firebricks line the firebox of most wood stoves, to protect the metal components of the stove by absorbing and retaining some of the extreme heat generated by the wood fuel.
