What types of homes did Comanche Indians create?

Comanche Indians created tipis, a type of house that resembles a conical tent. Tipis, also known as tepees, were made of animal skins and had smoke flaps at the structure supported by wooden poles.
Comanches used tipis because these homes were easy to pack up and take away. The Indians used to move regularly to follow herds of buffaloes, so it was important to take the tents with them quickly. A Comanche tipi allowed residents to set a small fire in the center of the floor for cooking and heating. The roof has a hole in the middle for ventilation and sometimes tipis were painted on the exterior.
