What are the types of kidney tumors?

Types of kidney tumors include a Wilms tumor, Ewing sarcoma, rhabdoid tumor and renal-cell cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute. These types of cancer are often found in children, though renal-cell cancer is also found in adults. It's the most common type of kidney cancer, as of 2015.

There are several types of renal-cell cancer, claims the American Cancer Society. They include clear-cell renal carcinoma, papillary renal-cell carcinoma and chromophobe renal-cell carcinoma. Other types of renal-cell cancer, such as the collecting-duct type, are extremely rare.

There are also benign kidney tumors, according to the Canadian Cancer Society. These include renal adenoma, oncocytoma and angiomyolipoma.
