The median salary for a registered nurse in May 2012 was $65,470, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The bureau does not give the salary for urgent care clinics, but the median registered nurse salary at hospitals was $67,210, while it was $58,420 at physicians' offices.
In 2012, the bottom 10 percent of registered nurses made less than $45,040. The upper 10 percent brought home more than $94,720. Registered nurses who worked for the government made a median of $68,540. Those working in home health care services made $62,090, and those employed in nursing and residential care facilities brought home $58,830.
