The average modern pick-up truck has an average towing capacity of approximately 10,000 pounds. Among the models with the highest capacity, Chrysler claims its RAM 3500 can tow as much as 30,000 pounds.
Other notable names with great towing capacity include the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD and the GMC Sierra 3500 HD, both of which can tow more than 23,000 pounds. Ford's F-350 can tow 22,800 pounds, while on the lower end, its F-150 model has a towing capacity of 11,300 pounds, which is what most vehicles of this category can offer. Such is the case of Chevrolet's Silverado, which can tow about 11,000 pounds.
