Categories can be searched by type of metal, price and type of program. For example, users can search for silver coins priced between $50 and $100 or presidential medals. Users who have placed an order can check its status, even if they are not registered users. Because the Mint is run by the U.S. government, there is no sales tax on any item, but commemorative coins carry a surcharge. These coins come from limited time programs created by Congress to fund projects for the public good.
