What is Ultima Weapon in "Final Fantasy"?

Ultima Weapon, also sometimes called Ultimate Weapon or Atma Weapon, is a recurring character in the "Final Fantasy" series. The character is a monster and an antagonist, but battles with it are also often optional.

The original appearance of the character was in "Final Fantasy VI" as the Atma Weapon. The player was forced to fight it once as part of the game's story, but the second battle later in the game was optional. In later translations of the game, the name was changed to Ultima Weapon. The character appears as an optional battle in six other "Final Fantasy" games, and he was added to the remakes of "Final Fantasy II" and is also in "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years."
