How do you uninstall Java?

Uninstall Java on a Windows 7 PC from the Start menu, access the control panel, then the Programs and Features menu. Java may be listed under names starting with JS, Java or JRE.

  1. Open the Start menu

    Click the Windows button in the lower left corner of the desktop. Find the Control Panel option, and click it to open a new window.

  2. Open the Programs menu

    Browse through the options in the Control Panel menu. Find the one labeled Programs and Features, and click it.

  3. Uninstall Java

    Choose the version of Java to uninstall. Select the Uninstall option from the blue bar above the program list. Follow the prompts to uninstall the program.
