What is USAA?

The USAA, or United Services Automobile Association, is an insurance company founded in 1922 that insures vehicles of members of the U.S. military. The United Services Automobile Association is based out of Texas, where the original founders insured each others' vehicles.
USAA is known for its use of direct marketing, the practice of using employees to directly advertise to customers through means such as cell phone text messages and email. They are considered one of the pioneers of this method of marketing, with most of their business based off of Internet and phone advertisement. As of 2014, USAA provides insurance to over 10 million customers.
