How do you use a call blocker to block incoming calls?

Block incoming calls on a landline phone or a mobile phone using a special code or the built-in call-blocking features. You can also download a blocking app to block certain numbers on a mobile phone.

1. Do not answer the call

   Let your phone route the call to your voice mail. Do not delete the call history from your phone.

2. Activate call blocking

   Call block, or call rejection, varies depending on the carrier. You may also have to check with your service provider to see if you have call blocking in your service plan. On a landline, to activate call blocking, lift the receiver, and press *60. Press the # key, and wait for the prompt. Press 01# to block the last number called. For Android phones, download the Call Blocker app from the Play Store. Install it, and add the numbers to the app. Check with your mobile provider for more information about call blocking in your plan. For iOS 7 and 8, click the information icon next to the unwanted number, and select Block this Caller from the list. Confirm your selection.

3. Test the block

   Meet up with a friend, and block your friend's number on your mobile phone. Next, ask your friend to call you. The app should block the call. For landline phones, check with your provider for information on unblocking calls from your list.
